MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - So how engines has yours had?

Hmm..........Watchdog, Autoexpress, Autocar, and many other people posting here say the same thing, trouble with the V6!

I was just wondering how many have had new motors fitted. If so how many?

BTW Honda type "R" now at 4,500 miles, no return to dealership at all!

SO HOW TO YOU MEGA !
Alex

Er. 76000 miles and just 4 oil and filter changes.......
Adrian

So how many words missing sentence?
David Bainbridge

Please don't get nasty with me. I didn't build the V6, i didn't build all the "K"s that HGF. Please go and see MGR on this subject. I just want to know how many have gone Kaput!

Mega
BTW Euro sales will fall, why in God's name would a French Man buy a badly made cover version of an old Honda Civic? MGR are just a little worried that English people will start to think the same!
Mega

First engine dead after 4000 miles.

Do I care? Nope. Still have a Lotus Elise to play with. And by the time that one breaks down again, the ZT-T is prolly repaired again. So i have fun anyway.

Besides I'd rather be seen french kissing Tony Blair in public then driving a Honda. So I'm still happy with my ZT-T, with or without engine...

WOHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

1.Thank God that YOU don't build engines Mega-its bad enough what you write on the BBS !
2.Why would you want to know how many have gone Kaput, since
you have no intention of ever buying one?
alex

Its good you have no F'in problems Kelvin ;how about driving problems ?
Don

>>>I just want to know how many have gone Kaput!
===it's really none of your business is it.

re "BTW Honda type "R" now at 4,500 miles, no return to dealership at all!"

Just think how happy that must make the dealer!

Why?

I have a contact at a dealer who reckons there has not been any exceptional problems with the k V6. The only thing is to remember to check the oil regularly especially in the first few thousand miles. The MGs are not alone in this, a few people I know had high oil consumption on 1999/2000 model B*Ws - I think it was on the 4 cylinder versions.
This same contact also says that you should keep an eye on coolant levels. Every blown k4 head gasket he has seen has been due to overheating caused by low coolant level, apparently you can tell from the way the gasket has blown. I'm not technical so don't expect any further explanation.
My ZS180 is running wonderfully.
C Morris

ZT-T 190+ running great - not a sign of a problem with that siljy-smooth KV6 ...
