MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Trying to get modern MG's a bad name

Why are some people hell bent on getting modern MG drivers a bad name?

This morning, on the A63 towards Garforth Roundabout, some idiot in a Trophy Yellow ZR insisted on trying to cause an accident.

After sitting no more than 12 inches off my rear bumper he decided it would be clever to overtake on the brow of a hill. Guess what? Suprise, suprise on a busy road during rush hour there was oncoming traffic. Not only did the oncoming car have to brake to avoid a collision the clever ZR driver cut in front of me with just inches to spare causing me to brake aswell.

The irony being that one minute later I sailed past him as he queued to turn right at the roundabout.

Why do some people insist on endangering others to gain a few extra yards?

I've not printed his registration number as I've yet to decide whether to report him for dangerous driving - you know who you are & I only hope that when you have the inevetable fatal crash that you don't kill anyone else in the process.

If this seems like a just a rant to anyone I apologise but as an enthusiast of all MG's it sickens me when lunatics like this get the more intelligent & sensible drivers of these lovely cars a bad name.

I don't know about Yorkshire but it seems that the ZR is the New Nova for the brainless spoilt brats of people with more money than sense.

I am afraid I have witnessed too many similar incidents around the London area.

These people will soon be driving the tough bumpered Streetwise on which, hopefully, the MG name will never appear!
Alex

that's good inst it?

at least the car has a reputation that people have picked up on

and if they stuff it ....then they can go and buy another one plus there's a load of spares available for others...

being treated this way is going to happen to some brand or other it migt as well be MG after all the recent cars handle and are pretty quick too..thus perhaps prompting over ambitious driving!!
Neil

I would not worry too much BMWs driver have had a bad name now for near 20 years and it has not really had a negative effect on their sales has it.

>and if they stuff it ....

the insurance premiums for other drivers of the same model wil go up.

I think it was this weeks Autocar that reported on the confiscation of a youths ZR following continued anti social behaviour in the way the car was being driven.
