MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - which should I buy?

I currently own a MGF 1.8i and I am thinking of purchasing a new ZR to add to my F, I need to travel 25000 miles per year in the new ZR.

I had a test drive in a 105, and I am thinking of buying either a new 120 or a 115 diesel, how do these two compare for performance and running costs? can anyone compare these two?

Have you tried http://www.parkers.co.uk/ you should be able to find reviews and relevant comparisons there

The diesel is a quick car (faster the the 160 from 30 - 70)but sounds like a taxi and is a bit agricultural. The 120 is the one we chose as it is only group 10 insurance and is not really any slower than a 160 (group 16) as it has much better lower down torque. Best option is to test drive both and see which one best suits you. Dealers should be offering good deals with the current status of MGR.

<<The diesel is a quick car (faster the the 160 from 30 - 70)>>

Always thought those figures were a bit misleading as this is only true if you stay in 4th gear. If you stay in 3rd, as one does when accelerating hard, the 160 is quicker.

Same with MG Maestro 2.0i and Turbo. The 2.0i is quicker in 4th but the Turbo is quicker in 3rd as the boost is used there, just like the VVC comes into its own at higher revs.

Diesel 115....go for it.

Jeff, you might not bother, but thats because you will be on the bus for a while! But Michael will no doubt now be able to pick up his chosen MG for a very good price I would think.
