Just got back from the Autosport Show and Rob Collard was there with his ZS in RAC Colours! Great looking car and another one to come with driver announcement within the next few weeks. I did'nt take any photos but some are already all over other forums.

Fantastic news! :o)

I can't tell from the photo on that news item - but it looks as though WSR are keeping to the original Mk1 ZS look rather than using the face-lifted car?
Rob Bell

Brilliant !

MGs never die they just get faster!!

Rob, opinion is the car in the photo and on display at autosport show, is in fact an older car, maybe a Mk1 used for diplay & not the actual race car, though it now has got the facelifted grille fitted!

Kelvin

I wondered why the car didn't get that grille last year, but it will be a very welcome sight to see two ZSs on the track this year flying the octagonal flag! :o)

Let's hope the company will be resurrected soon.

Great news i can start watching touring cars again ? and attend the meets, see they cant keep a good car down

Re car at Autosport, this was one of the early ZSs to race and had been - in effect - mothballed at WSR HQ. As Kelvin has said, it had a Mk2 grille. Re the question why WSR didn't run a MK2 last year, this can be answered with one simple word - cost. I believe they had some of the parts to do it but did not have the sponsorship to warrant the extra cost to rebuild and re stock.

I believe (I hope) that as WSR have a major sponsorship with the RAC (to be known as Team RAC) then they will go the whole hog on their race cars (one currently owned by Colin Turkington which was raced last year by Rob Collard and the two that were bought back from the German Production Car series) for this year.

As to driver line up...interesting. Dick Bennetts has been quoted as saying he has had 21 drivers approach him for drives. Out of this there are four who I believe are in with a good chance. These are Dan Eaves, Colin Turkington, Rob Collard and....Anthony Reid appears back in the frame.

The driver announcement was due around two weeks ago but I believe DB will hold off now until Media Day (where I shall be) on 28 March at Brands Hatch.

Bring it on!!!
