MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - ZT 400, How much do I want this?

this is the real thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Janet will never notice!!! ;o)

PS looking as though I'll be getting a supercharger for the F shortly... >:o)
Rob Bell

We need a volunteer, to fit a CHARGER looks as though we've found it!

My suggestion is wait for SnR to release a range of tuning mods for the 260.

They told a group of yesterday that some stuff will be avaialble for Xmas.

Whats more they are looking at cosmetic stuff as well as hardware!

We spied a wide tracked, AP braked mule. However, I get the feeling they are concentrating their efforts into the 260!

Finally, spoke to an engineer who said if you want the supercharger you must fit the wider track and the brakes/tyres of the ZT385/500 development car!

Next time you having Tea with MGR "High Comand" ask them the following:-

Is Zt going to get the new Mustang motor? (It has 300 BHP and is an alloy block thus 60-80 Kgs lighter)

Is that total waste of time (SV)going to get it the new motor too?

Rather than pissing around with said SV would they like to knock ZS 180 up to 200?

And most important, knock up a Turbo ZS with say 150 BHP to sit between 120 and 200 ZS?

Perhaps that might just help their rather sorry sales, you know ......sell lots of ZS Turbos not an odd one SV!

Cheers

Have been supporting MEGA's ZS Turbo need for a long time. Its absence is a real stupidity-unless there is some serious reason eg unreliability or tendency of failure?
Tony

It's more likely to be type-approval costs that are hindering a turbo ZS Tony - it could run into substantial sums of money; why spend it on a soon-to-be obsolete model when perhaps the money is better spent concentrating on the RDX60?

I don't believe that the quad cam Ford V8 will fit under the ZT's current bonnet line - hence the adoption of the 16v V8: it's a shorter engine!

<<I don't believe that the quad cam Ford V8 will fit under the ZT's current bonnet line - hence the adoption of the 16v V8: it's a shorter engine!>>

I have heard this too - bulkhead modifications are required and they spent 5x the budget on the V8 so they did not have enough left to use the quad cam 32v engine.
Matthew Simple

I have just noticed that someone has hacked into my user details and cunningly changed my name (see above). We have seen this before with non-members posing as regular posters but now people are managing to change user profiles. Who do I report this to?
Matthew Semple

Matthew
Two things:

Has someone registered as a member using the above details as this would be the obvious way, in which case you should request the Webmaster to remove the registration.

Or, have you sent a link to this thread to someone as this may sometimes include your user id details and if they open the link they can then post in your name, and modify the details.

It seems to be more likely the first, though.

Martin.

Matthew - Matthew Simple haven't hacked your user account - he's registered a new account, very similar to yours, albeit one with one letter changed...
Rob Bell

Rob that is not correct - I posted the message with the Simple in the name without noticing.

When I noticed I clicked on Customise and the name and e-mail had been edited and I changed it back. There is no new account.
Matthew Semple

That's wierd - the post is still showing the odd spelling too.

Report it to Mike Plumstead, the webmaster of this site - clearly there is an issue that needs to be resolved here.
Rob Bell

When you change your name or address the old threads do not get refreshed like on newer forums so that is not unusual.

It seems to be okay now - I'll have to keep an eye on it and e-mail the webmaster if it occurs again.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread! Often thought the 1.8 Turbo from ZT160 should be dropped into the ZS!
Matthew Semple

Yeah Thread successfuly hijacked!
Neil

So, getting back to the 400... Are you/aren't you Neil? You know it makes sense... >:o)
