MG MGA - A sad goodbye.

A sad day in this household -- after serious surgery two years ago I have decided that completing the last Mk.11 is beyond my capability.

I'm slowly collecting all the parts and will soon offer it as an 'unfinished project'. It is the last of four restorations, the most recent, in the care of another enthusiast, is still pristine and a trophy winner.

I still use my old Mk.1 as a daily driver so will content myself with that enjoyment.

Too bad you're so far away.

Very sad Barry. Having seen your cars at first hand I know that latest one is a superb project for someone. Your bodywork man certainly knows how to restore the shells to concours condition.

Sorry to hear this Barry
But still having your Mk1 as a daily driver will keep a smile going I'm sure

Thanks for your comments MA and Willy.
Steve, you are correct, my panel beater, Andrew, cut his teeth working in the UK on MGA's when they were first released. It didn't take the local lads long to smash them up and Andrew had the job of rebuilding them. He has a vast knowledge of the trade, MGA's in particular, hand makes the most intricate panels and is absolutely a perfectionist! He helped me to a second place and two firsts in Concours on my most recent car.
This last one is of the same high calibre.
I'm struggling to come to terms with not being able to complete it!
Barry.

As you say Barry, a sad day. Lovely looking body preparation so hopefully it goes to a good home, and good luck to you. However, another good project for you in Aus Mark Hester?!!
Bruce.

Dont beat yourself up about it Barry, that is already a beautiful resto you have done on the car.

I'm certain that whoever takes it over will finish it to a standard that will make you proud to have been involved in the process.

Cheers

Yes this is a lovely body but alas in the wrong country for me Bruce.
The swiss cheese body i have, which Bruce saw over christmas will one day drive again, it just takes time.

Good luck with the sale Barry
