MG MGA - Australian MG Nationals Tasmania

Entry forms are out for this event, but WOW, cost for a couple (Social only) is A$740.00. ...hope I'm wrong, but that is what the form totals!
Gary Lock

When you add accomodation costs and the cost of shipping your car by sea to Tasmania I doubt that many will attend.

It could be a quiet event.

It appears to me as some clubs are pricing their events with Ferrari like prices. They are killing the GOOSE.

Couldn't agree more Sandy

I've entered, but seriously considered withdrawing. What happens is that there is no mention of pricing until you fill out the on-line form, and then it hits you! The social entry fee is basically to cover one finger food meal, and two dinners..damned expensive meals for what is usually alternative drop plates.
Gary Lock

We have 10 cars going over from the MGOCWA. Not cheap but you are a long tine dead.

Oh well, as long as there's Tassie Salmon on the menu I'll give it a go!
Gary Lock

Guys
Really, when you look at it, these prices are pretty much the same as recent Natmeets with a full comp. entry being the better value for money if you are into competition.
The comp. entry at $40 extra includes entry to the motorkhanas and hillclimb which would normally attract around $150 fees as stand alone events
As far as the cost of shipping to Tas. goes, the Tassy troop has to front up for that every year to get to the mainland meets, it's a bit of a pain but it is what it is, we've learnt to live with that--
I hope you enjoy your time here---
