MG MGA - Bonnet Control Rod Spring Mounting?

Subsequent to my prior post, I have found the anti-rattle spring (BMC #AAA788)for the bonnet catch control rod at Victoria British (Whew!).

I know that one end of the spring mounts on a tab located on the control rod. Where does the OTHER end of this spring mount????

Rick, There was some discussion on this point on a thread last year sometime - a search of the archives may find it. cheers Cam

Found a diagram and description of the bonnet control rod spring mounting on pg 26 of Todd Clarke's MGA Technical Manual.

Thanks to Cecelia at Scarborough Faire for pointing this out to me.

This is the archive link to which Cam refers: http://www2.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgbbs&access=&mode=archiveth&subject=6&subjectar=6&thread=200603020819393474

I was the subject of banter in that thread. It's ok, I can take it. Seems that Neil, like me, has discovered he does not have one fitted.

Still not fitted it on my car. One less part to rattle!!

You can get Todd's Tech manual from him. It has some information not available anywhere else. It is a compilation of his instruction sheets and various things he has recorded. I got a copy from him 10 years ago and I don't think it has been updated since. Check his site and contact him.
