MG MGA - brake drum color
| I am rebuilding the brade system and would like to repaint the brake drums. The wire wheels are silver. The PO painted the drums black. |

| Yes Terry, the correct copour, but mine look much nicer in silver. I'm sure the factory bought black paint cheaper than silver ! Sean |

| It is normal practice to have items coloured black where they are required to give off heat as quickly as possible. The difference may be slight but every bit helps. Mick |

| It seems that (at least some of) the Australian built cars were assembled with silver drums. Personally, I think that black looks better, because then you don't really see them! |

| Used barbecue black paint out of a spray can for mine, after sand blasting them. That was more than ten years ago, and they still look great today through the wire wheels. Peter. |
