MG MGA - Carpet Set

Want to treat the car to a new carpet set, something with quality.

Anyone suggest a supplier in the UK ..?

Thanks

I was disappointed with the set I got from Victoria British... supposedly from a "British supplier" making them just like the originals.

They were very stiff, a bit thin, and poorly bound in the few places you can actually see any binding. I sent them back and ordered Moss's set.

Hi Aleks

I bought mine from Classic Car Carpets in Merseyside, excellent o.e. quality plus a good choice of colours. They also do underfelt kits, boot carpet, clips, glue etc. They also do LHD/RHD. The price was right as well.

Try PJM Motors if they are still in business. Should be quite close to you

Bob West has a very good reputation. I have not purchased or seen any of his interior trim and carpet but I'm sure he will send you samples. You can email him at srx210@aol.com. You can also call him at his shop number 1977 703828

I was disappointed with the set from Moss.
Totally wrong around the gearchange, and lots of trimming to do.

I have installed three Moss carpet kits in my car in the past 350,000 miles, 1986, 1998, 2008. They always fit okay around the shifter, have edges bound in the correct places, not bound in the correct paces. There will be a bit excess material around the edges so it can be trimmed to fit (depending on how much padding you put underneath). Generally good quality. They do not wear out or tear up, at least for 100,000 miles plus.

Please describe the misfit around your gearchange. This might be a one-off problem, as I don't suppose they have changed the patterns.

I have used several sets of trim from Aldridge for various cars. They are excellent.

Barney, probably a one-off, and they replaced the bad bits for me. Its hard to describe but basically totally wrong cut where it folds around the back of the gear lever.
