MG MGA - Coupe door question

Putting the coupe doors back together and am a little confused on how the back top edge is attached, mine look different on each door. Does anyone have a photo of how this all goes together? Photo attached of the area in question.

David,

I have taken 2 photos of my right couple door at the joint. I hope these help you out.

David,

Here is the 2nd photo.

There are two screws that go from under the aluminum plate to the top piece Chrome surround). I tried to take a photo of it but it came up either white (due to the flash) or dark with out the flash.

If you want e-mail me your phone number and I can chat with you while I'm in the garage with the car.

David,
Look at Mr. Honness' first photo and you will see that there are two chrome pieces involved that are connected with a chrome sheet metal screw. The piece that is attached to the window frame has a hole in it as you can see in your photo. There is a small blind nut that attaches here to accept the chroome sheet metal screw. The second piece goes along the top of the door and the chrome sheet metal screw that connects this chrome strip to the blind nut in the chrome piece on the window frame. Hope this helps and have a good day!

David... here are a couple more shots from the old door, this piece looks like it is made for this application.. I have had someone else say that the skin folds over and is fixed here, so a little confused... It looks like your door has this piece also, and the skin is cut to be covered with the outer edge of this "cap".. Is this what you have on your car?

Finally...this is the original placement on the door, before I removed it and cleaned it up...

David,
I am about in the same situation with the doors of my Coupé, that gap is there, I filled it up so far with a small peace of hardwood .It is not yet in a final state, I am still working on it. Off course there is always the problem of rebuilding something of which you don't have the original part or situation. Detlev Clausager's book does not show enough details of this particular part to build on it. So keep on with a bit of imagination ...

David,
Attached is photo of the blend piece showing the captive "nut". It's actually a spring clip.
Merry Christmas,
