MG MGA - Dash Windscreen washer pump - Tudor

Hi Guys,

I need to repair my old windscreen washer pump.

I've read Barney's article:

http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/accessories/at105.htm

Is the Moss item (GWW102) only good for spare parts for the original Tudor pump or are there better reporoductions now available?

Thanks
Mark

Many thanks Neil,

Do you happen to know if the Moss one comes with the outer washer shown on Barney's site which says "Washer"

http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/accessories/at105.htm

Barney's page appears in my browser to have one image over another though.

Cheers

Mark, The Moss pump does not come with the outer washer but otherwise is complete and looks and works
fine.

Mark, -- Now you got me upset. Images should not overlap. What are you using for a a browser?

This is first I've hear that Moss is supplying the correct pump configuration for MGA. I think the knob is still wrong, missing the white ring around the edge (and the face of the knob may not be large enough to include the white ring).

his is what I get with IE 8

Hi Barney,

Yes I get what John sees using ie8 too.

I can't click on the images of the plastic rings either which could be handy.

So does anyone know a source of these?

Cheers

It looks to me as though it may be possible to colour the outer ring in white, (same method as for old switches etc.) If not they come up all the time on eBay. There is also a white knob with black lettering that was also used on MGAs apparently.

Not surprising that there was a lot of variation though as this was not a standard component.

It would appear that screen washers may have been both factory and dealer fitted (as well as being added by owners).

I would be interested to know if these would be fitted during production or retrospectively in the factory? And at what point would the body and dashboard be drilled? Or whether they were only fitted at the dealers?

I would imagine some dealers followed the factory installation to the letter regarding hole positions in scuttle and dash, while others used their "initiative".
