MG MGA - fuel pipe clip?

Does the fuel pipe have a clip holding the pipe to the frame back near the fuel pump (maybe attached to one of the rear floor board screws)?

Thanks, George

George,

If you talking about the clip that mounts the fuel pipe to the rear shock absorber mounting bolt.

Part number is 54516

but brown and gammon UK list it as AAA301

recent experience with Moss UK = unavailable

Thanks Mark,I have that clip installed, its for the fuel pipe from the tank to the inlet side of the pump. I'm asking about the fuel pipe from the outlet of the pump to the front of the car, that goes thru the several welded-to-the-frame clamps.

Contact Todd Clarke at Clarke Spare in PA for any fasteners you need for an MGA.

George,

In response to your initial question, the front to rear fuel line does not have a clip at the rear bulkhead. The line sweeps down along the underside next to the frame.

Just last month I took this picture of likely original brake and fuel lines. The lines are held in place by three or four bent over tabs.

I have since cleaned up this mess with a new front to rear brake line and replaced all of the battery/wiring loom brackets (Todd Clark). Note that the #1 gauge marine battery cable wire is too large for the Todd Clark clamps. This likely due to the extra thick casing. The green wire is for a third brake light.

The bottom picture is backwards in that the fuel pump is to the right. I have more pictures if needed, send me an email.

I don't recall a bracket on the vertical part of the firewall, but there are definitely two or three on the shelf.

George, John,

I think that double clip holding the wiring harness and battery cable should be mounted the other way up ( So it looks like a "P" rather than a "b", if that makes sense ). That positions the harness and cable closer to the floorboard.

Thanks for asking the questions George, I'm at the same stage of installing those pipes and cables, and looking for the details of where they should run up the front of the frame and around the backboard area.

Yes, the wiring harness/battery cable clips should be installed "up" like a "P" per the MGA Guru Barney, and Todd Clarke's restoration guide.

Thanks for the correction on the wiring harness and battery cable clip orientation. My originals were so buggered it was hard to know which way they they went. Should have checked first.

I found this photo of my car before restoration. The battery clip looks like it was attached to one of the vertical floorboard screws. There's no clip on the fuel pipe. The brake line is not correct. I replaced that in 1976 and the replacement was too short so I cut the corner. John
