MG MGA - Fuel sender unit
| Hi all, I have just one on ebay an original sender unit that needs some TLC, should I just clean up the outside or open it up, the seller said it appears to work ok with a test meter, your advise please, see photo. Dave Kent UK

| Dave, I would just check the resistance as per Barneys site, mgaguru.com, if all is ok no need to open. Neil |

| If anyone has a junk one, I can use the terminal post to resurrect a very nice original one. Offers please... |

| Dave, Those are good readings so I would just clean up the exterior and mount with new gasket. I like a cork gasket with sealer. I had no luck with the rubber one that always leaked. You may find after instalation that the cap seal is dried out and leaks. remove and replace gaseket again with sealer. Make sure you get sealer around all the screws on both the cap and the tank. Be real carefull with the terminal post . the wire is very tiny and fragil. Good Luc! |
