MG MGA - Google Chrome

Is anyone using the new Google Chrome browser? Any comments?

I downloaded Google Chrome a couple of days ago and have been using it since. I'm still trying it out.

One of the things they seem to aim at is users who keep many tabs open, but I don't typically do that. I haven't noticed too many difference in the speed at which pages load.

I don't like the fact that there is no "home" icon to go quickly back to my normal home page.

I like the new tab page which provides a quick way to get back to recently visited sites.

I also like the tabs being at the top of the window.

I like the Google search capability being built into the address line.

Entering this comment has been much more difficult for some reason with Chrome. Deletes, typeovers, etc., seem to take some time before they actually happen. Some letters I type seem to disappear until I've gone a few more lines down and then they suddenly reappear. I don't think I'll be writing another reply with Chrome!

Generally I guess I like it OK, but it appears to still have some bugs and I'm still not sure I'll stick with it.

I had similar findings - let's hope Google are listening!
I does have an inbuilt spell checker that is handy when writing these comments (right click for options). The delay in the typing is frustrating.
Just use the first tab as your home page - search function is so quick.
As it is only the Beta it will improve.

PS you can add a Home button in the Options but New Tab is just as quick.

I still prefer Safari - MUCH faster than both MS Explorer and Firefox, and allows me to save all passowrds etc easily. Chrome is just a bit too minimal for me to get my head round. Will try again when it comes out of beta.

Not too impressed with Chrome, but the Safari is excellent!

I just started to try out Chrome , have noticed some funny things happen when typing in form boxes like this one where words and letter disappear from view and back spacing or deleting tends to go screwy. Still trying to get used to it. I do like how all the last or most visited side are right there displayed .

Yes, I've given it a test drive. It has a very clean look and is nice and fast - but I've found too many bugs already for it (including the textbox typeover problems mentioned) to become my everyday browser.

Too many sites simply do not show as expected with it (to say nothing of the joys of trying to edit in these comment boxes on this site!). Although it does have a spell-checker, it does not appear to have the ability to add words to it, so MG is doomed to look like a mistake. I like the idea, but the implementation is not ready for prime time.
