MG MGA - Greetings From Japan

Thank you to Ken Morton from AK for dropping me a line and prompting this message.

As you all know by now, Japan was hit by a massive earthquake and tsunami last week. Unlike so many others, my family, friends and I are fine. Thank you all for your well wishes.

Even though we are in Tokyo, about 150 miles south, we were rocked by the quake. Everything stopped. Transportation, electricity, phones, etc. The US Ambassador to Japan graciously offered his house to Embassy Employees who could not make it home. We were lucky.

Supplies are extremely limited, especially commodities like gasoline. Long lines can be found at those stations with fuel. Most stations are closed. We now have rolling blackouts as well and limited train service.

There are no complaints.

Now we, as you all around the world, are concerned about the nuclear reactor and what may happen. We are hopeful that the situation will be brought under control so relief can be brought to those who really need it.

I almost forgot to mention, my MGA is around to run another day! Even if it wasn't, I would still consider us very lucky.

Great news Tom and I know the Japanese will knuckle down and work even harder to rescue their lives and the Country.

My thoughts go out to the Fukushima 50

We saw how brave some human beings can be during the last nuclear disaster now we are again whitnessing extreme compssion and bravery. I hope I can do something for these people in time.

What is fantastic to me is what Tom said "no complaints". There is also no looting or vandalism. The Japanese people are incredible. Tom you have a great day!
