MG MGA - Jud's MGA Mk II

I've been active on the TD and the MGB sites for a couple of years but I'm new to MGAs. I just acquired this MGA Mk II from the original purchasers last week. I'm pleased as punch and thoroughly enjoying driving it everywhere. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as time goes on and I hope that I can contribute a bit to the cause of keeping these beautiful cars running in tip-top shape. Thanks in advance to all of you for you help. Jud

Welcome Jud. Nice car. Hope you get as much fun with the 'A' as we all do.

Beautiful looking car! Where are you in South Carolina? I am in Aiken. Ken Doris and his wife will soon be moving to Beaufort with their MKII. Beautiful time of year to drive these wonderful cars!

Hi Jud - welcome from West Lancashire UK - looks to be a good straight car - enjoy! Cheers Cam

Thanks everybody for the warm welcomes. Here's another pic. I'm truly enjoying driving this car to the detriment of my TD and MGB. I wish I could drive three at a time. I'm looking forward to a 250 round trip to Columbia, SC next weekend. The car is running great. The PO bought it new and, except for a questionable paint job and some wear items, it's all original.

Don, I'm in Gowensville, about 12 miles north of Greer. Mountain driving (up the Saluda Grade, over to Caesar's Head and such) is my special pleasure.

You live in a beautiful part of the state! Looks like great driving roads for the MGA and probably slightly cooler temperatures in the summer than in Aiken.

Happy Easter.

All you S.C. members need to come down to Ocala, Fl. for the 50th G.O.F. South. See our web site for info. www.mgclassics.org

Jud, welcome to the MGA owner's club. I got mine in boxes in September, I'll be finishing up the nuts 'n bolts restoration in about a month. Maybe we can do a side by side at Eurofest this year? Last year, 'cept for the Twin Cam at a paint shop's display there wasn't a single one.

Furman.... I should have driven plenty of shake-down miles, so Hmmmm.... TD again or the A? Choices, choices....

MGTD vs MGA. Totally different cars, huh?

Mitch, I hope you'll bring your MGA to the gathering at Furman. I need another plaque for second place in a field of two. See you there. Jud

There were quite a few nice A's in attendance last year.
