MG MGA - Looking for Ian Pearl (still)

I tried this a year ago and got no response but it is important enough to try again. Does anyone have a current e-mail address for Ian Pearl in Ireland? I haven't seen a post from him for a couple of years and his old e-mail address is not working.

He has (had) a nice photo spread on myphotoalbum.com for restoration of an MGA hardtop, but it has expired. I would like to contact him to recover the photos, and maybe some notes too.

Barney, Have you tried to use: http://www.archive.org/index.php

If you need pictures of a factory alum hardtop, I have them when I did my restoration to make it like new again.

The WayBack Machine at archive.org does not index pages from photo sites.

Jim Paul's aluminum hardtop restoration is here: http://www.jimpaul.tv/mga/mods2.htm

Ian Pearl's photos were for the Fiberglass top restoration. If anyone has those I would be happy to post them.

Whilst on this subject, can anyone let me know if they have a source for the fibreglass hardtop rear seal?..it is different to the aluminium one, which MacGregors sell. I've tried around the world for this, and am awaiting a sample from Seals Direct in the UK who may have something similar.

I have some photos of my hardtop while I was putting it back together, somwhere...

Could this be him? More luck with the rod than the hard top?

Gary,

I don't know if he's still in business but Todd O'dell used to have everything for the hardtops. Last I heard he lived in BC, Canada and his cell was 604-463-9596. Good luck,

Todd O'Dell also seems to have disappeared..earlier email contacts are returned "not known at this address" to use the old snail mail terminology.

Ian's article on Barney's site was about restoring a Universal Laminations hardtop. UL was bought out by Dennis Ferranti, but still used the UL name, at least in a copy of an advert. from 1957 that I have.

I tried a UK people search site called 192.com and they listed two possible Ian Pearls, one had gotten married and the other had died. For any further information, I had to pay.

Gary,
Todd O'Dell's home phone number is +1 604 463 1649. His mailing address is 20854 123 Ave, Maple Ridge, BC, V2X 4B2. He used to be a member of our Club, but we have not seen him for 2 -3 years (since he got married! and had kids?)
The last email address I have for him is woodworks@netrover.com. I have called his home and left a message, so he may contact you through this message board.
Peter.

Hi guys!

Barney - I've managed to recover the photo's = you have mail!!

BTW - That was me on the Irish Angling site. After that, I went to France for 8 months, Poland for a year, Hong Kong for 6 months and now working in Singapore! The car is still in France, waiting for me to return to Europe!

Cheers,

Ian

Wow! Pretty neat. That's why I enjoy the MGA community, plus more good info for Barney's site.

Okay, I have posted Ian's pictures here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/top/top134.htm
One fiberglass hardtop restoration demystified.
