MG MGA - MGA Register Holland - database

Dear fellow MGA owners,

It has been a while since I last posted on this forum. About 15 years ago, I became active in the world of MGA registries, and for many years now I have helped maintain the MGA Register Holland.

The register now contains records for 15,468 MGAs, along with 28,070 photos covering 8,414 cars.

I would like to invite anyone who has not yet registered their MGA to do so. Is your car already listed? You can check here:

Best regards,

I just checked and mine is still on there.

Koen. Your link to the database doesn’t work for me - just brings up Google. Thought I should check my registration although I think it’s there - Twin Cam YD1 1188.

Thanks Koen - I see Melon’s MKII is still there!

Cant believe the date is 2011; amazing how 15 years have blown by!

We updated our website this year- can you add the link to our info?

UK Owners can also access the MGA Register online using this link

https://www.mgaregisteruk.com/

More information on how to register as a user and "claim" your car can be found here

https://www.mgcc.co.uk/mga-register/the-mga-register/

The database is shared with MGARH so owners who have already registered with MGARH can use the same log on credentials for the UK Register. There is not need to register twice.

Bruce (IOW) - your car is on the Register

https://www.mgaregisteruk.com/browseregisterresultshow.php?chassisno=1188

But it looks like you haven't "claimed" it yet.
Colin Manley

OK, I'm not great with computers or data bases but I can't find my '62 MGA Mk.II (GLNH2/104006) on either the UK or Holland site.

Is it there and I just can't find it or do I need to figure out how to register it.

Thanks,

Jud, you would need to register your car for it to appear; here's the site:

https://www.mgaregister.com/index.php

Then click on just below where is states: Not a Member Yet?
Nick Kopernik

Thanks Nick. I think I did it. I'll be in Holland in late September of this year. Sadly, the MGA will stay here and I'll be riding around in a twin-turbo Porsche 928.

I have a 928 also. The MGA is more fun!
Steve Simmons

Steve, I totally agree. Jud

Colin
No idea what I’m doing! Nothing fresh there!
I can find my car, all details listed and correct. What’s this “claiming “ all about? Is that a separate username and password?
Thanks
Bruce.
Bruce Mayo

Bruce,
That makes two of us at least. I logged on to the MGA section of the MGCC but it now seems to want an extra different log on to update the database which I don't think I have.

Hi Bruce,
“Claiming” simply means database aspects; you can then access the records and update, or add photos etc.

Hi Malcolm,
The MGCC database is not the same as the one we’re talking of here. Hence you need different log in etc. The MGCC record is much more limited.

I’ll get Joe Walsh, the MGA Register Registrar try, to contact you both.

Regards
Colin

Hi Bruce & Malcolm

It's all explained here

https://www.mgcc.co.uk/mga-register/the-mga-register/

As per this page, if you experience any difficulty accessing the Register please contact me on

mgcarclub_mgaregistrar@hotmail.com

There's a link to a step-by-step guide which should make it all clear but if not please get in touch.
Colin Manley

As at 05/08 no response from either Bruce or Malcolm so case closed. Joe
