MG MGA - New fuel sending unit

Have just bought two fuel sending units from Moss USA. I read somewhere a while back that the single contact arms on these new units were not satisfactory. The original units were double contact, and would have thought that Moss would have rectified this by now? Any update?

I have just bought a sender unit from a UK company called Brown & Gammons which looks like it has a double contact arm. See attched picture.
In case your interested,it has an id number on it of P/N0447499

Graham, looking at the pic, it looks like just the one arm.

Could be a bad picture or maybe I don't know what I'm looking at. There is definitely something on both sides of the coil that moves with the float.
I've attached another picture, with float in a different position, that hopefully shows it more clearly

That B&G one looks just like the one I bought from NOS/Scarborough Faire a while back - the resistance range was WAY out of spec, so measure it before you go to the trouble of installing it and find out your gauge is still reading incorrectly.

It looked a well made unit apart from the resistance issue, and definitely had the double contacts.

B&G is a LOT more customer friendly than Cecelia - I have used them since 1988 and have rarely had any issue with the quality of their parts, and I have never ever had anything other than perfect customer service. On the other hand I won't deal with SF any more (luckily I bought my sender over eBay, so I did get a refund even though SF completely ignored me and all communications from eBay.

Thanks for the warning Dominic
Mine seems ok with readings from 0-77ohms. I think it should be 0-70 but that sort of tolerance should be fine for me. After all, I'm used to no gauge at all!
This was the first time ive used B&G and I agree they were very helpful. Will certainly use them again
