MG MGA - New hubs (cont'd)

So, got new MGA rear WW hubs, got them pressed on the shafts and re-installed.
Despite the old wheels being loose on the old hubs, they are really tight on the new ones, so much so that I just cannot get the right rear to go on enough to get the spinner threaded.
Why would an obviously worn wheel hub be tighter than new?
It seems to be held up at the inside end of the splines
I even took a v file to the ends of the grooves in the wheel, but no change.
I was contemplating treating myself to new wheels, maybe I will be forced to, but why?

Sounds like they may be out of spec. Recurring issue with lots of components in the classic cars field nowadays. Did I see the critical dimensions listed here?

Found the problem. After trying 3 different wheels, it had to be the hub.
I found burrs at the inside ends of the spline grooves, See pic.
I can clean them out with my Dremel + fine cutting blade.
Sent a note off to Moss.
Anyone else encounter this problem?

Nice catch. Can you get a good close-up picture of it before you de-burr it?

I'll do my best!

Here you can see the ridge

Well, the Dremel did the trick. Wheel slides on nicely, all the way.
