MG MGA - Our MGA Colors

Out of curiosity, does anybody have good recent statistics on the current colors of our MGAs?

Seems like NAMGAR might have had it for some of us as I remember putting "primer" in about 20 years ago when I first registered. At that time, I believe Red was the most prevalent.

Dennis,

look here for statistics:

Robert,

If I'm reading the info right, it shows the original colors of the 3000 or so MGAs in Holland. Good info and very interesting; thank you. I wonder how the percentages compare to the register here. I'm guessing a large number of people have kept the original color.

(although my roadster looks like a rainbow in some spots under the dash).
Dennis Suski

Dennis,
Of course there is red primer and grey primer, so the numbers may be skewed.

Dennis,
You might send a note off to the NAMGAR Registrar (John Drake) and ask him to query the database.

Dennis - No surprise on the red being the largest number - but I was surprised at the large number of Black - which is my colour
Cam Cunningham

I'm lucky enough to have contributed to one of the 53 and one of the 37.

Now that I've had my car painted I guess I need to update my NAMGAR data base info. So,BRG +1, primer -1.

I guess that OE White and White should be one field as I do not think there was 2 variants? I may be wrong.

Neil, I think it's an option and includes those cars that were not repainted in the factory colours. You will see three reds, three greens, two greys etc.
N McGurk

There were two different "Official" reds used by the factory. Orient Red -(1500s) and Chariot Red (1600s). I have seen reference to two different Old English White variations (1 & 2) as well. With the difficulty in obtaining materials post World War Two in England I would not be surprised if there was some variation from batch to batch in the paint as delivered to the factory. Don't forget that it was possible to have a custom color from the factory, at least for the few English fortunate enough to get a "A" in the export era. I believe that the last Twin Cam was a special Woodland Green which I believe is a TD color.
