MG MGA - Oz MG trip to Canada 2014

Anyone from here in Oz interested in shipping cars to Vancouver in 2014 for the across Canada trip to GT 39 in Ottawa, and returning via what's left of Route 66 to LA, and back up the California coast to Vancouver? There is a tour being organised for all of the distance, courtesy of Peter Tilbury in Vancouver and others.

I'm looking for two cars to fill a 40' container...cost for the return shipping will be the A$ equivalent of US$5000 at the time of shipping.

Gary,
Have you put a similar message on the MG Experience MGA forum?
We look forward to seeing you on the "Cruise to the Capital" next year.
Peter.

OK, I'm not from OZ, but I am planning on shipping my car to Vancover to do the trip across Canada. Look forward to meeting some Aussies there!
Cheers,

Have you made any plans for shipping to the west coast for the trip. I am thinking about doing the C2C but everything I have found out so far is that you can not ship to Canada. You will have to ship to somewhere in the states and drive across.
Gary
I will be in Oz late in January and early February and if you do not find any takers and I do the C2C you could ride with me or I could ship two cars west and you could drive one of my cars. I have a few. I haven't made up my mind if I and doing the C2C yet but I did the rallye to Reno and I had a great time and met a bunch of great people.

GT and GK,
We recommend shipping by truck to somewhere north of Seattle, and then driving the short distance up to Vancouver.

Hi Gary,
Please let me know when you are going to be in Los Angeles. I live in Long Beach near the Queen Mary. I plan to fly there and then a short trip to Montreal to see family. Debbie would also like to see you again. Maybe this time I will be awake!!!!!

Guys,
I have a shipping firm that does do "international" shipping. However, shipping the car to Seattle then driving North does sound like a good idea. I've not been in Washinton, so it is appealing. I will look up the firm I talked to and post it, just FYI.

GT and GK and GL,
We are looking at a storage facility in Blaine, WA, just on the border with Canada, where the cars could be shipped to. You could then fly into Seattle, get a connecting flight to Bellingham, and we could pick you up and take you to pick up your cars in Blaine. Bellingham to Blaine is less than 20 minutes.
Peter.

You might also check out the AMTRAC schedule from Seattle to Bellingham. As I recall, the AMTRAC station is near C-Link Field and real close to a rapid transit station for the commuter train that runs between the Seattle Airport and downtown Seattle. That would also give you the option to spend a couple of days in Seattle if you wanted to before heading up to get your cars. Just a thought.
