MG MGA - Quality fender piping?

Moss' fender piping for the MGA lasts about 2 years in the dry, hot New Mexico weather even though the car is usually parked in the garage. It turns dark, gets hard and checkered. Does anyone supply a better grade vinyl piping?

thanks,
Tyler

Not what you're looking for, but I use black vinyl welting from a Ford restoration supplier. I will not use that grey vinyl on my cars.

The pic is of the Sebring style light mod on my latest A. I've got that welt on my red one too.

I have always liked that rear end mod (no bumper, lights mounted in the boot). It's simple, uncluttered, and looks sharp.

The MGA piping has a low "T" profile, so it snugs up to the fenders and looks good. The VW piping is close, but has a round "O" profile, so is more "proud".

Still looking for good quality MGA piping.

Tyler i got fender piping from Bob West in England fifteen years ago and it still looks new plus it was the correct shape and easy to fit
I found it best to phone him rather than e mail.

Just be careful about using real rubber. It expands in the heat and may pucker between bolts. The rubber at the bottom of my windshield raises in 2 places on a hot day.
