MG MGA - Rally plaques
Does anybody know where (in UK) I can buy a few (6) rally plaques at reasonable cost for our club tour this year? The companies I've tried all have a significant minimum order, which makes them a bit pricy. We have 6 cars going driving to Killarney and the Ring of Kerry in SW Ireland, if anyone has an experience I'd be pleased to hear it. Thanks

We had to order a minimum of 100 for our rally. If you only need 6 why not design one your self then print it out on card and laminate it.

Or hand engrave them, possibly using an existing badge too. Stick a keyring type badge on a brass plate. Matthew.

Matthew, I think DJH means the Monte Carlo type large plate which is used in UK rallies, and attaches to the front grill/bumper bar. I've had several made up here in Australia using a graphic printing shop, and using a soft plastic as backing...very durable. Price wasn't that dear, and no minimum order...the first one is the dearest!

I had 10 made for me by a firm in Herne Bay. If you email me via www.masckent.org I will try and find their details over the weekend. Alan

Aha! I was thinking of dash plaques sorry.

This is the guy we use - Sean Rankin. No minimum charge. He does the magnetic ones and in any colour. Email:- <Seanmarkrankin@aol.com> Good luck Pete

Beware of magnetic plaques as they can have a drastic effect on paintwork after a couple of days. i found out the hard way! I used www.prestigesignskent.co.uk Alan www.masckent.org

What were the drastic effects Alan? Matthew.

Matthew The car is leaf (pale) green. A four day weekend by the coast along the Normandy Beaches (France). Sunny. I had a magnetic GB plate. On removing the plate after the weekend there was a really much paler impression left on the panel. T-cut had no effect so only recourse was to respray. Alan
