MG MGA - Screws for Shut-face

Hi, looking for some help identifying what specs the screws on the shut-face panel should be.

Currently my roadster has most of them missing.
I am talking about the 2 at the bottom on the corner and the ones along the edge where the door shuts.

I was not able to find out from the Clausager book, apart from the fact that it is a cross-head screw (in one of the pics).

My thinking was to install them before it all gets painted. Should they be painted or leave them chromed?

I realise there may be different types needed. The holes on the side have a threaded insert floating inside.

Thanks again!!

10-32 phillip head screws. Run a tap thru first to clean the threads. Get SS from the local hardware store and buff the heads up with some buffing compound (takes about 10 seconds) and looks like chrome.
cheers.

The screws are pan head not flat head. With this clarification I agree with Lmazoway. The 2 at the bottom corner are sheet metal screws.

The screws in my cars were oval head phillips screws not flat head. I don't think it makes a difference but oval head looks better. I went the stainless route with good results. Have a good day!

Pan head is the wrong term they are oval head.

Mr Brown, I think here in the UK they are called pan head!!

To settle pedantic arguments over screw types I use McMaster Carr as the arbitrator!

Unfortunately, American terminology is significantly different to English (UK) terminology.

As an example, if you were to ask a UK fastener supplier for a 'cap screw' like these...

...you would get a cap-headed socket screw and not a hex-head screw.

McMaster Carr pretty well covers this different terminology - see http://www.mcmaster.com/#screws/=96ycf5
Is there a better UK web site reference for bolts/screws than McMaster Carr?
