MG MGA - Snap Connector pliers

That snap connector pliers looks like a good idea for putting the bullet connectors together. Does anyone know if it is available in regular auto or hardware stores?

MGA connectors are soldered on or just pushed through the hole and bent over (tail/park lights)
The only tools you need are wire strippers and a solder gun.
Picture below is of the tail light harness. There are 6 soldered on connetors left in the picture. They join the main loom in the Right rear corner of the car. The 3 wires only one with a connector join inside the light fixture. Tip must be off to go through the plinth base gasket and light base gaskets then the bare wire is fed through the tip and folded over.
This is a Original factory harness.

The pliers that Harley is refering to, push the actual bullets into the plastic connectors. They make a much better joint than simply pushing them together.

Does anyone have a picture and a supplier for these pliers?

OK, I found the pliers at Moss. It is part of a wiring tool kit, but you can buy it individually, but it is a bit pricy.

Okay - found it - "wire harness closing tool" $38.95

You could buy a cheap pair of pliers and grind a groove in the jaws. I've been using a small screwdriver for 50 years.

Pity there isn't a device for getting the beastly things out!

Dominic, I have the Autosparks ones, and they work a treat, especially in tight areas.

I too used a small screwdriver for years, but the special pliers are a huge improvement of you pay a sensible price for them

I would draw the line too at 35US, unless I knew (as I did) that I had two cars to completely rewire. It's like everything else, having the correct tool makes the job much faster and easier, and you are less likely to break something or hurt yourself as the screwdriver slips and buries itself in your hand (been there....)

British Wiring carries them, bought a pair several years ago. They also carry other wiring tools and all of the various connectors.
