MG MGA - Steering wheel center piece

Could anyone tell me the mounting dimensions of the original style steering wheel center piece? I have a Lecarra steering wheel. The inside dimension of the mounting hub is 3.25”. Will the Original style center piece fit?

Don't think so John. I've just run out and measured mine. The original MG Centre piece inside diameter is 2.75 inches. Two inches and threequarters. Clive

Thanks for checking. I was afraid that it would not be a fit. I have a cheapo version to a least plug the hole.

If you used a piece of plastic pipe of the correct ID and OD, or a piece of flexible plastic of 1/4 thickness around the aperture you could just make a spacer, which would be mostly hidden by the original's flange

Thanks for the suggestion. Knowing the dimensions gives me a bit more confidence to go ahead and give it a try.

Any idea of the width of the flange?

John, My centre piece shows Depth of flange 5/8". Its rim thickness is 1/8". The outside Dia. is 2"5/8. Hope you can make sense of this. Unfortuately I cannot send you a picture as my computor is on the fritz in that department. All the best. Clive.
