MG MGA - tools again

Hi all this is a long shot but I don't suppose anyone happens to have a set of the correct king dick box and plug spanners that they would like to exchange for some of the folding stuff

Many thanks for the photo, it has cleared up an issue I had since my father gave me his tool set. The Tommy-Bar was missing but from your picture I can now identify the toolbox locking pin as a multi-purpose piece of kit!!
As a mechanic in the 60's he picked up a number of tools from scrapped car toolboxes so I have a few of each. None in good condition I am afraid as he used them a lot. I will see if I have some spares (only one tommy bar though!!)
I have found many fairly rare tools in his kit, all pointing to an early life in a car toolbox.

I will let you know but I am just off on vacation so probably after Christmas before I am allowed into the workshop!!

it is the correct one for the A kit as it has a tapered collar bit to the head

If anyone's interested there was an article published in the American magazine MGA! (NAMGAR?) in the Nov/Dec 2000 issue called 'Dancing in the Dark' by Tom Page. This is a very informative article about MGA tools and his experiences in collecting them and gives some very useful information.

I would love to get a look at that article/issue--Anyone out there with a copy machine/scanner that could send it to me. I would be forever grateful and promise never to bid against you on E-Bay tool auctions.
I am also sure Gordon would like to see it, to verify that each of his numerous kits are complete and correct.

Maybe NAMGAR can supply you with a copy of the magazine? If you can't get one and if nobody over there can supply you with a copy then let me know. I have only got a copy myself and not that good either but I would be happy to post you a copy of this if you can't get anything else.

I have located the artical by Tom Page, and will gladly make a copy, and mail it to you. Send me your address. ( By the way, Tom Page was a former neighbor of mine , but I lost track of him several years ago. He owned a beautiful MGA 1500, very original, old English white color. )

I just sent James a copy of that NAMGAR article, 3 pages at 300 dpi grayscale in a pdf format file. It's a 2MB file, and I can send it in 75 seconds on my slow DSL line. If anyone else wants a copy, don't flood the BBS with requests, but send me a private e-mail.
