MG MGA - Trick to removing wire from connector?

I need to remove and replace a wire from this connector (wire complete with brass spade end). How is it done without damaging the connector body or the wire/brass end? I cannot see any tab to press back!

Nothing like this on an MGA. Check with a local mechanic that works on modern autos.

post this in off-topic, and you'll get a lot of responses.

You push a very small blade down the connector from the mating end on the back side of the spade connector. There is a small sprung tab that engages into a slot on the plastic block. When you spring the tab back, you can withdraw the wire complete with connector.

Thanks Dominic- I got it free with some fiddling! This type of connector has been used on my Coupe (originally 1500 style) to connect brake/parking light combo (original) and seperate indicator light on the apex of the rear fender (mud guard)- bumper bars removed.

Where is the "post this in off-topic" on this forum?
David Lake

You're right - it's the MGE forum that has "off topic"...sorry.
