MG MGA - turn signal switch lock washer

Should the lock washer for the turn signal switch be put on the front or the back of the dash on a coupe? The SPL shows it on the front, makes sense for the roadster metal dash. But I don't know how well that will work on the Vynide material of the coupe dash, seems like it could wrinkle it up.

Thanks, George

PS - I'm recovering my dash as part of the restoration, I don't want to bugger it up!

I think it is on front on coupes.

You could use a flat washer on the front and the star washer on the back...........Mike

Lock washers are pressed into service to keep the nut from loosening. I think a lock washer (star washer) in front is unattractive, but at the rear is non-functional.

We now have Locktite. I'd give it a try, you might not need a washer at all.

My spare signal switch has one of those wavy washers behind the nut. Same kind of washer as you get with seat belts to stop the eye rattling on the pin. The diameter of the washer is less than the across flats dimension of the nut and it is invisible in service.

Dave, I like that solution, thanks!
