MG MGA - USVGP - Watkins Glen
Anyone from here planning to attend the Zippo at the Glen in September? I am planning on either trailering or driving (preferably the latter) my A up from Atlanta. |

Chis, I'll be there, as always! The Binghamton Auto Racing Club (BARC) will celebrate their 50th anniversary at the track this year as well. We have booked rooms at the new hotel at the Glen. We'll be downtowm Friday and at the track Saturday and Sunday. Look me up. Gerry |

Hi Gerry, I'll definitely look you up. I know some of the BARC guys and am registered for their weekend get-together at the track. One of them also gave me a lead on a B&B downtown where wife and I were able to secure a room. I think i will register for one of the Friday tours - have you done any of those before? Chris |

Chris, Yes, I've done some of the tours. Lunch at a Vinyard, a rally to WG, 2 laps of the old course. Great fun. However, they fill up fast so if you've not registered yet they may be full. We decided not to do one this year and just focus on the downtown event. There is SO much to see. Check out the Glenkana...behind the Savoy, useually around 3:00. If we're not in it we'll be there watching, drinking beer and laughing. Cheers, Gerry |

Chris, The tours are all well worth the money. We've done all three and will be back for the Sporting Roadster tour this year. Friday is a hoot. After you get the laps of the old course you will get special parking downtown and then get to watch the vintage racers blow through. Then they park and the whole street becomes a "mall" with everyone gawking at the cars and chatting with the owners (between bar-hopping:) Here's a photo of our A in the "reserved parking" area downtown in the Glen from the 2006 event. Cobra on one side, BMW in front and Ferrari looking at the A's tail lights! Looking forward to seeing you guys sometime Friday or Saturday. - Ken ![]() |

Ken, Tried to get into the Sporting Roadster Tour, but was way too late. They still had spots on the Founder's Tour, so I entered that one. Keep an eye out for me in the black car in attached pic. ![]() |

And as far as those BARC boys. When you see them, tell them Scott Brown is gunning for them next year on the East Coast! best to all - Scott Brown MGA #41 - The Pile ![]() |

Scott, you're very kind but that is a pretty sharp car you've got yourself. I have seen it before on the vintage31 site. You and I probably have some friends in common in MGVR. |
