MG MGA - VDP Hard Top
Has anyone an idea of the list price of the VDP hardtop when new? Thanks Dominic

I may have the chance to purchase a slightly damaged aluminium hard top. I believe they are quite rare. If this is so what is the going rate please. (OK I haven't seen it yet and am aware that the value of any damaged item is difficult to comment upon) Any thoughts or guidance welcomed. Sincerely Jerry

I bought mine as a complete but in need of restoration one for 600USD, but that was a bargain. Normally they go for rather more than 1500USD in that state, and I have seen restored ones offered recently for 5k But I am trying to find the price when they were new back in the late 50's - so if anyone has a price list or an advert or something similar....

There are some ads from 50's for Fiberglass Hardtop for sale on UK Ebay #301013214496 and #301013218271. BW

With a little luck (perhaps a lot of luck required in this case), someone should have retained the invoice from original purchase of an MGA with factory or dealer installed alloy hardtop.

Thanks Siggi, but in 1962 it would have been the fibreglass top, not the aluminium VDP one So I think I am still on the search for an answer
