MG MGA - What the?

All of a sudden I've had to log in to this site again.Anyone else had to do this? I've had the MGA part of the site bookmarked for years.

Ditto. Both on pc and laptop and update my bookmark.

Anyone contacted the Webmaster? Or is it a Windows Security update or suchlike?

Me too. Maybe there are trying to work out why the sites popularity has plummeted?

Well it is certainly not a Windows issue as I have had to do it on my iPad under Safari. Clearly something done on site/server.

Site related - we moved to a secure server

Strange--I'd bookmarked it and didn't have to log in again but all the threads, where we click on a subject and from then on it's in blue instead of black had all gone back to black---apart from that it's normal

It's up to us to keep the site popular, so keep them posts rolling in
I'd imagine Mike would keep it here whatever but the more posts the better

Spotted these two Qld cars down here the other day

To restore login normality delete your old bookmark, login to the bbs and bookmark anew.

Chris at Octarine Services

Old bookmarks will redirect, but as you haven't clicked on the new https:// links before they will appear as "new" colourwise.
Mike Plumstead

Kind of funny how so many people insist on leaving that trim strip unpainted.

Noticed that Del, same on both cars, they certainly look better (in my eyes anyway) in body colour

Weird, I didn’t have to log in again...

Hi Willie
I know the guy from Qld with the moroon car - very nice. Has air conditioning! Were trim strips on Mk II body colour or chrome/aluminum?

In Facebook. You will see a few photos of the car including electric steering. Mike

As far as I know all of the trim strips were originally body color. I helped dismantle a 1600 Mk1 that still had its original trim strips, which were normal carbon steel (and therefore had to be painted). No chrome. It's only the repro strips that are aluminum. I think some people leave them bare or even polish them because they don't know any better and they see others doing the same thing.

FWIW I didn't have to log in again either.

Mike, I've never seen unpainted ones before, that's what caught my eye.
Del seems to be on top of it.
Doesn't matter really, a nice pair of cars being used, I waited round there for quite a while hoping to catch the owners but no go-
It was lunchtime, so they were probably buried in somewhere

Glad it wasn't my laptop

If anyone wants details of electric steering that still leaves the original cosmetics and doesn't cost arms and legs look here for the details of the one I have
