MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - 4 Lug 16 inch wheels

What are yall doing out there for wheels after your rear axle conversions on the MGB's. As I've had the 2001 Camaro axle shortened to 49 inches, and dearly intend to keep those nifty rear disc brakes, I was surprised to find a 16 inch wheel was about the only thing to clear. Also, those F-Body wheels, also used on the corvette, are about 15 inches wide!. I was hoping to keep the external as near to stock looking as possible, and am considering having the front hubs relugged to 5 @ 4 3/4" so as to use a matching front wheel. For example, those of you using the S-10 rear axle, what relugging or wheel styles are you using to compliment the MGB look? Vem

Vic,

My S10 axle (3:42 with Eaton posi)came from D & D with the stock MGB bolt pattern 4 on 4.5.
I upgraded my wheels over the winter to 16 inch Compomotive MO style wheel with Goodyear F1 rubber.

James-

What is your distance from the wheel mounting face to wheelk mounting face? And offset or backspacing for the wheels? I didn't know one could sneak a 7" wide hoop in the rear wheelhouse

Thanks

Here it is. Thanks in advance for the pics.

Pictures on the way !

greg, not sure what you mean by the wheel mounting face distance? the offset on these panasports is 0, which means 3.5" backspace, they fit fine if you roll the lips on the fenders, jim

I guess I was just repeating myself repeating myself repeating myself repeating myself.

What I wanted to know (and was apparently incapable of asking clearly is the width of the axle, from the wheel mounting face of the brake drum (if running drum brakes) or the corresponding portion of the disc rotor hat is running rear discs.

I've had difficulty running 4 1/4 backspace on a 6" wide wheel (14").

Been debating on having a set of rostyles changed to 15 x 7, but was concerned it wouldn't fit in the rear wheelhouse.

Hope this clarifies the question- you've given me the answer

Thanks
greg fast
