MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Conversion Plate for standard B box

Hi all

First time on this V8 board. Just starting to look at V8 conversionm on my B.

Anyone know of any drawings that may exist for the converion plate to mate a standard B box to the back of a Rover V8?
Richard

I have the adapter plate and crankshaft adapter with required bolts and pilot bushing. I also have the machined altered and balanced flywheel with a roller throw-out brg. for anyone interested. Purchased in 1994 from the V8 Conversion Co.(UK) I changed to a 3.9 L and 5 spd. last year.

Richard,

I've looked into this problem with Dave Vale from the V8 Conversion Company. I think these adapter plates are now effectively extinct. Dave had the drawings etc with a contractor for periodic build of plates when required but the manufacturer went broke and the drawings were lost.

Please confirm with Dave Vale (01689-858716). However, I'm in the process of carrying out a V8 conversion using an ex-Costello car as the donor. I'm not far away; you would be welcome to coptact me directly and come to see what I've been doing.

Thanks for the response and offer.

I have access to a Costello adapter plate and crank adapter locally. So I can make my own copy from that. I just thought that with the access to CNC machinery that I have to manufacture from drawings may be easier.

Will try to keep you posted on progress.
Richard

Richard, I have an original V8 conversion co plate, plus all the bits and pieces inc the original instuction sheet which you are welcome to borrow as a pattern if you wish

Thanks for the offer I may well take you up on this particularly the original instruction sheet. The hardware that I have seen is ok for copying. But the instructions may through up some other useful info.

If I were to send you a SAE perhaps you could copy them and send?

please feel free to e-mail me to make arrangements
