MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Gearbox

Hi,
Can anybody tell me where I can get a conversion plate to use my original mgb gearbox with a 3.5 v8 efi from a range rover,and approx. cost.

I wonder if it is strong enough?. Has anyone else used efi with a 1800 box?

Don't use overdrive in third and take it easy pulling away and should be OK for a while - They're cheap to replace though with plenty around.

there are a few V8 boxes around still but further to Stuart's advice - consider a heavier grade oil for the standard box.

I broke the gearbox twice with only 155hp. Stripped the teeth off 2nd both times. Now using R380 with 260hp no problem.
