MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Intake manifold

Does anyone out there know if a late model Rover Discovery 4.0 fuel injection intake manifold will work on an early 60's Olds 215. I'm currently running a Carter 4 bl, but would like to switch to FI, and this would be a start.

Thanks for your help.

I have put the rover hot wire F/I on the buick motors from the ecu to the O2 sen. I have one in a box to send out west to go on a 63 buick conv. I have F/I on my 74 chrome bunper with A/C & a stock B hood. Come dowe & see what it takes. If you know what is what it is not that hard of a job. You will get 5 mpg better fule mileage with the F/I Glenn

No Allan it won't. You need the injection from the 89-94 Rover - often called the "hotwire" fuel injection setup. If the upper intake is very box like and black, it's useless.

The manifolds for the flap/valve and hotwire systems are pretty much identical, I have used both on my V8 , the only real difference is in the plumbing for the heater.

I also had a 'square' plenum at one stage, it seemed identical in dimensions to the domed ones, but possiblt the trumpets in the lower part would be different, I sent it to a guy in Australia for his conversion.

As Glen says the mpg is much improved, even from flap valve to hotwire, an important consideration over here where a tank of petrol for the MG costs us the equivalent of $70 !

The very late Range/Disco 4.0 has a new system which unfortunately is much higher then the single box plenum/trumpet one. may fit beneath an RV8 bonnet though. There's been quite a few of the new type on Ebay recently

Other than the height of the plenum, will the late model 4.0 intake bolt up to the heads? I plan to use a megasquirt set up by my son, and may be able to fabricate a lower plenum.
