MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Ken Costello's 6 speed

There is a rumor that Ken is developing a 6 speed set-up for the MGB. Does anyone have any details?
Frank

Yes, did talk to Mr. Costello about the trans and saw pictures, it's about the size of the T5 and for the looks of the gears that he had in hand it look very well build.
You should contact him directly, how? contact Rick Imgram he will put you in the right direction.
I have his bus card but need to dig for it.
Bill Guzman

Thanks Bill...it was mentioned on the MGB experience that he had it at Gatlinburg...I unfortunately didn't make it until Saturday so I missed it. As you might recall mine is a supercharged stock motor...do you know if this transmission is being made to mate up to the original engine or just V-8's?
Frank

I would contact Tim Fenna at Frontline Costello although he is involved in following

Paul Wiley

i think it only mates to a V6 frank. Ken has no interest in frontline according to what he told me in TN.

I talked with Ken for over a hour at Townsend. He said the trans would be made for both the V8 and the 4.
He would not quote a price range for it.

BTW...He did NOT have the actual transmission in Gatlinburg.

Ken,
Do you happen to know from what car the donor transmission comes from?
Frank

Sorry...that was supposed to say Rick, do you ....
Frank

At this time, no I do not know the origin of the transmission..
rick ingram

I also talked with Ken about the development of this transmission. He showed me the engineering diagrams and they lead me to believe it was being developed from scratch. He is looking to have the units manufactured in the US.
Scott Miller

I believe that the 5-speed he developed back in the early '90s was also done through original design. Seems as though he had some difficulty with the British governing bodies and had the transmission made in India.

FYI...there is a Costello conversion (tourer) for sale on e-bay at the moment. Owned by Dave Michels of Virginia, USA.

That just might be a great idea for my GT V8!
I'll be keeping an eye on this, I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out!

Any of you guys from across the pond that are in contact with Ken and can get us some more information? Apparently he is not associated with Frontline anymore.
