MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - MGA V8 conversion

HELP! I'm starting the process of a MGA V8 conversion. I have seen a few pictures in some magazines of this already done however, nobody has shown any good pictures of the engine bay and/or frame modifications. I'm planning to use the Buick 215 with a T5 transmission. My MGA frame is modified for a late model MGB overdrive now so I don't think I have to worry about the rear trans mount or tunnel shape and size. I would really like some input from someone as to the ease or lack there of in this job. Any ideas, please help. Thanks
John

John,
check the archves - there have been some good threads on this very subject. Also IIRC Mark Mathiesen is your man on this subject too.

John, I checked the archives. There isn't much on it, just Mark asking a lot of questions which didn't get a lot of replies. It doesn't look like this has been done very often!

Guys, i think i have found most of the MGA V8 conversion articles/pictures out there on, Chevy, Ford and Rover conversions. i am a fair way into mine and will happily share with you. I can send you good photos of a Rover sitting in a bare front chassis half with some of the mods you will need to do. email me for copies.

Here's a Yahoo Auction you can check out. This has been listed several times, so I guess noone is interested in finishing his project.

Have spoken to owner vi email about this car. Seems like there is a lot of work to do just on the drivetrain and chassis not to mention body. Looking at the suspension there are some 'unusual' suspension setups that others more skilled in engineering than me have expressed concerns about. I personally think the setup is to far removed from an MG chassis to consider it a worthwhile project..but that is my personal opinion, based on my desires and what i saw.

You might want to try contacting Warren Kennedy of Classic Restorations near Bedford in the UK (+44 1234 765588) - he has built a V8 A, it was featured in one of the magazines last year.

I have sent faxes, letters to Classic Restorations but it seems they do not reply! Suspect they are only interested in doing the work for you as they have supposedly spent large sums on their prototype. If anyone has success here I would love to know!!. On a happier note there was a red MGA V8 at Silverstone last year and it seemed an excellent conversion..anyone have any more photos of it (or others)for me to archive?

John is picking up his V8 this weekend. I know he is getting very excited about starting this project.
