MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Motor Mounts?

What kinda motor mounts do you guys use? I was thinking solid, but now I'm thinking I should use rubber.

Solid mounts that attack to the actual block, and the rubber biscuits that connect the block to the frame rails. Preferrably the heavy duty v8 motor mounts from one of the mgb parts suppliers, or any of the v8 guys.

I used the stock Buick 215 mounts and made brackets and attached them to the front cross member. I decided the only reason for using the rubber bumper style is to make room for the block hugger headers. I'm using the RV8 style headers. If you're converting a rubber bumper car it would be easier to use the rubber biscuits. Mine is a chrome bumper car.

Rather than solid mounts, if you use the BOP mounts you can drill through them and add a bolt to prevent separation of the rubber.

I'm going with a 350 Chevy. Reason for the chevy is I picked up a rebuilt one for cheap. I also want to use block hugger headers. I keep watching them on Ebay. Just haven't bid yet. I was looking thru Jeg's, Headman hedders make a tight tube header. It has a flat collector. I think it would work out real well. I thought solid were the day to go, but I got to thinking it might vibrate it to death. I'm going to dry fit the engine this weekend. I'll try to get some pics and show you guys how it's coming.

You want some rubber for sure butthey need to be hard rubber (the V8 mounts sold by Moss in the UK are too soft) - engine movement can break blockhuggers. Consider the hard rubber supplied by Clive Wheatey - normal 1800/V8 size on the starboard and the narrow mount on the port - to reduce height and get your FI/Airfilter under the bonnet.

I'm going to be running a tunnel ram intake. The air cleaner will more than likely going to be even with the windshield. I'm going to test fit the motor and tranny this weekend. I'm building an old school hot rod. Very low-tech, since I'm doing all the work myself in a one car garage with a dirt floor. If the project ever gets completed I'll be amazed!!
