MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Real Steel heads now ready

Had a call from Real Steel, their new Merlin heads are now available for the rover V8. I believe they are new castings with improved flow and larger valves. 1.74 inlet which for a Rover head is large. An added bonus is that Rover exhaust and inlet manifolds will fit.
Price is £1100 the pair inc VAT
Im very tempted.
Heres a link to their catalogue. Scroll down to see the heads. http://www.realsteel.co.uk/

Sounds good, I would love to see some pictures of the revised port configuration.Bonus that you can use standard configuration inlets and exhaust manifolds, with the Wildcat heads you need different inlet and exhaust manifolds.

The price of £1100.00 is that for a fully finished pair of heads? or do they still need any additional porting and finishing.

Any idea what sort of BHP and Torque figures they are obtaining on their test engines?

Price is for finished heads with valves and springs fitted but not rockers and shafts although these are standard Rover V8.
They sent me a few pics if you want them let me have your Email address.
Quoted power on a 5.0L 353ft lbs torque and 330bhp
with huffaker and 750cfm carb I think.
They did say that they are not suitable for the 3.5L

Mark,

Very nice, but they do not seem keen to show the combustion chambers and revised port design. I'm assuming that the valves are closer to the centre line of the bores to allow fitment of the bigger valves, and reduce shrouding which is one of the problems with the standard castings.

Yes I had noted that they are not suitable for us weedy 3.5 users, I do have my eye on a 4.0 block but the piggy banks a bit low at the moment.

Do you ever get up to Brands for the MG's on track days, usually a good crowd of V8 ers there.

Thanks again,

Kevin Jackson.
