Yes unfortunately it is true. Due to drastic changes here at home I am putting the neverending project up on the block., everything is fine, just priority changes.

Please see the classifieds for a fairly full listing...

Sorry to hear that! You were always on the leading edge of the 302 brigade. We will miss your input.

Good Luck and Best Wishes to a fellow "Blue Oval B". keep in touch! BTY, are our cars Tahitti or Pageant Blue?

Wow Larry, this is sort of like the end of an era. I totally understand the change in priorities and admire your commitment. I know selling your car can't be easy. Your wealth of information will be missed... almost as much as your genuine enthusiasm and encouragement for the "sport." I know I probably wouldn't have started my 302 swap had it not been for you & a few other veterans. And there are probably several others like me out there too. Good luck and keep in touch. You have my email.

You will be missed Larry. Your site and the archives on this board are what inspired me. My garage is full of small block Ford parts. Good luck.

It has been a difficult decision, the thought has been in and out of my mind a number of times in the past year. Mostly because I just do not have the time to devote to it and seeing the car sit drives me crazy, she deserves much better. I just know I cannot get her done the way it could be and don;t want to leave it 1/2 way for eternity.

I recently started towards finishing my degree, so for at least the next 2 years I will not even be able to look at the car. That and I have 2 cars now that do not run, I really just need to clean up the driveway and get the car count down to running cars.

I am not sure what I will do with the website at this point. I just renewed the domain, so it is open for another year. The storage on it is a bit big and will need to be addressed. If anyone has the capacity and wants to keep the pages/files up as an archive, let me know, I am sure we can figure something out. I am sure someone will want the domain for a business as it does cover all conversions and was done intentionaly that way.

I will always be around and willing to answer questions, who knows maybe 5 year from now I will start it all over again, but with time and $$ on my side.

Larry, that's sad news for us here. I hope it's a "net positive" for you. Good luck!

I will be e-mailing you on the subject of your website. I just happen to have some storage space and bandwidth available.

Curtis

I hear you about school, that's the biggest reason why mine is still in pieces even after 5 years.

Good luck in the future.

how big is the site larry? i have some space. i don't know about the domain though (don't know if i'd want to pay money to maintain it).
jeff

I have had someone step up for the website files themselves We are still goignt o clarify the betails, but I am hoping he puts them all up, albiet with a bit of cleaning and organizing that I ran out of time to do.

I am thinking that one of the many business that frequent here will buy the domain name itself out as it would fit for them very well.

I want to say thank you for all the kind words and support I have reveived from this board. It is a great group of people. I am sure I will pop in from time to time to harass the locals so to speak, but as many may have noticed I have not even had time to post much in the last year..

Larry, congratulations on your decision to finish your degree. You will be missed.

E-mail me when you can.
Bill Guzman

Just gotta ask, so what you gonna be when you grow up? (as in finish school). I went back for Electrical engineering late in life and it was the best thing I ever did. Good luck!

if it doesn't work out with the web files, just let me know. i have space.

Sorry to hear that you don't have time for your hobby. That will change down the road.

If you don't really need the $4K, throw a cover over it and revisit it in a couple of years. I haven't started my camaro in over 5 years, but there is no way I could part with it. Someday....

Good luck with your educational pursuit!

All the best to you Larry --you have inspired and helped many over time including myself. Sorry to see you go , but sure understand your thinking--hopefully you'll be back with the Blue Oval crowd someday.
Good luck and regards

I am staying blue oval!! The MG will be replaced (for now) with a mustang vert, 5spd V8 of course!!

I had a cover over the car the last few months, but our weather are wreaking havoc on the cover and the car, so I put her back in the garage, which I need empty to put the wifes car and my driver into...

Too many cars, to little space!!

Larry, you may not find it helpful but I would like to share my perspective of past projects, as my original recurring pattern is not the same way I do things now. Along the way I have sold a number of projects I should have kept. One was a recumbent bicycle I built as a teenager, never having seen what a recumbent bike was. I actually gave that one away. I shouldn't have. But probably the biggest one was a rare tailgate style soft top Toyota Landcruiser into which I had swapped a 350 Olds engine along with a Muncie 4 speed which I turned around and placed between the engine and the stock 3 speed, giving a grand total of 24 forward gears and 8 reverse, about half of which were overdrive. That truck could go faster in low range than a stock one could go in high range, meaning I didn't need to stop and change ranges when I hit some good trail. But the point is, being faced with a bit of financial adversity and a mechanical breakdown at the same time, I swapped the whole vehicle off for an engine to put in a lesser vehicle. I've always regretted that, and knowing what I do now it is clear enough that I would have quickly found another way if I had only looked for it. Call it pride, bullheadedness, whatever you like. It dispossessed me of one of the best engineering tasks I ever undertook. Maybe because it was the first big one, but it would be a wonderful thing to still have it today.

I did not make that mistake with my MG. True, it never was a beauty and had many flaws, some of which are still there. But I could never replace it because there is so much of me tied up in that car. It is unique in many ways that no other car could ever be, even if I built it. So it spent many years in the bottom of Dad's barn. If the barn hadn't been there a storage locker would have had to do. And I worked on it when I was able. Months would go by when there was no time or money for it and it would just collect dust but I kept the thought in mind that I had a plan for it and when I could I would continue that plan. If I couldn't I would simply wait. During those years I returned to school and completed my education as well as many other things. For a time I lived an extremely austere but incredibly rewarding lifestyle as a whitewater rafting guide. Certainly nothing got done then, but I continued to think about it from time to time. And now, having nearly completed it to the point I had always wanted but being a little less resistant to the firm ride I face the decision of whether to give it a soft ride or drive it less. I don't know which way I'll go but I do know that I will not let it get away from me. So think about what I've had to say. If someone had coaxed me in the right direction I could also still have that Landcruiser today. I would really have liked that a lot.
