MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Sebring front wings - Problem!

Having purchased a set of Sebring fiberglass wings about 8 years ago, I only recently got around to fitting them. The rear arches fitted well with no real problem, but I was not impressed with the fronts. Every mounting either required modifying, completely replacing or creating from scratch, as the forward mounts did not exist.

I spoke to a local manufacturer who told me they had only been producing these wings for 4 years, hoping they were better a new set was commissioned. To my horror I found that they were not only the same wings, but also the mould must have distorted over the years, and the right wing was an even worse fit than the one I was trying to replace.

Does anyone know of any good quality Sebring front wings available in the UK?

Better still has anyone produced a steel flare to weld on the standard wings?

I'd also like to have Sebring-style arches and use 6Js with 205 tyres, but don't want to remove my perfect steel wings and replace with all fibreglass ones. Has anyone successfully retained steel wings with Sebring flares? I don't suppose there are fibreglass sections available to fit to suitable cut steel wings?

There are a few threads on sebring fenders under the MGRV8 list.

I have completed an archive search on Sebring, and came across the same question a few times. Only one article on a metal replacement arches produced as a one-off in Germany.

I have contacted the suppliers of my wings, who I believe are the suppliers to John Hills etc. Explained the major defects especially in the right wing, and asked them to check their mould and hopefully correct it, and call me back. I shall not bad mouth them any further, or release their name until I have a response to my request for a replacement.

Will keep you informend.

We have Wings (wheel flares) but are different to the sebring. These wings blend to the body very nicely and can house 205X55X15 tire on a whell 15X8 and some tire manufactures 225X50X15. If you would like pictures send e-mail I would be glad to send.

Best regards
