MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Suggestions for Exhaust System

I will be dropping off my nearly completed 215 MGB at the muffler shop this weekend for an exhaust sys install. Can't wait to drive next week. Anyway I was hoping for a little input on what you guys like regarding mufflers/ect..I dont intend on centering my gas tank at this point, so a single muffler on driver side seems like the logical way....I didnt pay much attention to exhausts when attending V8 2002/2003. I think my muffler shop uses Flowmaster and Dynaflow quite a bit. I know this is personal preference, but I'd like to hear what you guys like and why......

single flowmaster right beneath the drivers seat and my car growls like a 5.0 mustang!

Morgan,

Flowmaster has a low profile muffler that may help with the clearance issue.

Morgan!

I concur...Flowmaster.

Send me pics of your completed project!

Drive it out to Terre Haute in June for British V8 2005!

Come up to Olympia, WA in July for MG 2005!

Hi Morgan,

Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel?

Don't listen to these brainwashed, tonedeaf gearheads. Open headers sound best! :)

Seriously, it is hard to beat the sound of good ol' round glaspacks. Those Flowmasters have an annoying raspy sound. I can spot (hear) 'em every time. Just listen:

The Dynomax Ultra-Flow Welded in a 6" round would sound good and fit in the stock location provided thay make one short enough. A resonator under the driver seat would tame it down a bit more.

I like a good throaty sound, but not too loud. I don't want everyone in a mile radius knowing I've got it wound tight! ;)

Hey Rick,Carl and everybody that has helped with my project. Bet you guys gave up on me. I'll probably trust the guys at a refered shop in my area and hope for the best. I'd like to try Clive's system but dont want to wait any longer to drive a V8. I'm getting withdrawls, it's been toooo long.....
