MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - tyres

Anyone tried the budget tyres like Toyo,Hankook ?
what are they like?
Dennis

I'm using Hankook on both of my cars. 195 x 65 R14. Both cars have 6" rims & I'm very happy with their performance. Both Toyo & Hankook seem to enjoy a good reputation here in Australia.I was told to make sure that Asian tyres are made in Japan or Korea & not China. Apparently some makers manufacture in more than one country. Barrie E

Got Toyos on my car. 205/60x15's. Seem like they'll work well. Only got 850 miles on the car and so far so good.

They and Hankook have a good reputation here in Canada.

Can't comment on the Toyos or Hankooks, but here in the US most of the 'discount' tires are made by one of the three larger tire companies. I guess that they use older style molds to keep the price down, but the quality seems to be just as good.

I was very happy with a set of 45 series Kuhmo's I had on my S-10 Xtreme for several years. Very cheap, but very good.

I have used Toyos in the past & found that the wet traction was excellent when new, but that it deteriorated aftr 30,000 miles. Dry traction remained good to 60,000.

I prefer Yokohama Avids at about the same price, better wet traction over a much longer period of miles.
