MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - UK Superlite wheels

Does anyone have experience with the "Super-Lite" wheel company on Tredworth Road in Gloucester?
rficalora

Superlite wheels, distributed by Pack Racing here in the USA, are made in Australia. They are good quality wheels and they come in many different sizes. Do not know if they are the same as sold in Gloucester...

Thanks Mike,

I've talked with PackRacing. Still an option, but the UK company offers polished as an option & no one else seems to. I'm pretty sure they're the same wheels from Australia, but am not positive. I'm also not sure why no one else offers polished. That's why I'm hoping to get some insights from someone with first hand experience dealing with Super-lite in the UK.

Thanks,
Rob

rob, the firm in the uk is not the same one as the australian one. there was some debate about this on another car board a few weeks back with no clear answer, i have always been told the uk firm is older than the aussie one. anyway, i have had one set of wheels for a mini from the aussie ones and 4 sets for mg's and minis from the uk firm, karen matty is the contact person i believe? i have always been very happy with the uk firm, there service is great, very fast shipping and they have sizes and styles others do not seem to have. there split rim minilite style are really great wheels, anyway, good luck, jim

If you're into buying in the UK, these people seem to be the "biggies" for aftermarket wheel/tire packages:-

http://www.midlandwheels.com/

Quoting from their website:- ""SUPERLITE" By PERFORMANCE Wheels, Australian Made, Superior Craftsmanship, Stylish & Sleek.

This Minilight Style spoke Alloy Wheel is available in Various sizes and fitments.. "

They have 6"x14" listed as "Out of stock" for GBP87.67 (including VAT @ 17.5%, I assume).

i would not recommend buying from midland, they have there own brands they produce and also buy mostly seconds from other manufactuers. they are widely known in the mini world, prices are good but quality not. you will have your clear coat coming off in a year or less. just passing on what i have seen and also heard form friends. i have a friend that sells the real macoy "minilite" brand in the uk, if you want top end i can pass on his web site if you need it, jim

I ran midland minilite replicas on my V6 gt for about three years and had no problems. I paid $325 for a new set on ebay. One crazy thing though, they could never get the center caps right for the rear wheels. The set they originally sent me were to shallow to clear the rear hubs. Then about 6 weeks later I got a set that did fit...and then a year later they sent me another different set and they were to shallow also. Just thought I'd pass it along.
