MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - what Piston do I have?
Hey guys, I bought a set of pistons for the 4.2L motor that I have in my garage, and I need to know what I have here? They're out of a 3.9L Range Rover, and inside the pistons I find the following numbers: AE HRC 1827 HEPOLITE 22058 AM 413 75613 Any ideas? If these are the low compression 3.9L pistons (8.13:1) I intend on shaving .090" off the top and .125" off the bottom and using them with my 4.2L crank to build up a good compression ratio (I want at least 9.5:1 if not 10.5:1.) If they're not the low compression pistons, then I spent $15.00 on ebay (shipping included!) for a set of pistons. I can deal with that! Thanks, Justin

Much better to have a Detroit Piston than a Chicago Bull. ;-)

And all that "Jazz"! We should probably "Pacer" ourselves on this thread.... But we might miss out on a few "Nuggets" of information. :-) rick
