MG MGB Technical - 15 years later... some pics of the car!

Well, its been fifteen years of haunting this site and 30 years of owning the "MG From Hell". Figured I better post pics so people dont think I am justmaking this all up! For those who care I put some pics on the following site;

Dear Pete,

Looks very nice. Because of your description I was not expecting it to be to such a high standard.

Looks like I'm following Shareef down through the threads this evening, and I do echo his comments. Pete, this is a beautiful car, but ya gotta tell me where you got those seats! They look great!!! When my wife sees these pix, she'll refuse to ride in my GT until I install the same thing.

Is that a metal-dash car? If so, ' hope you don't cut on that original example. It's just too nice!

Ah, the penalties of stewardship...

Seats are made by Kirkey racing and are quite affordable. I will be removing them soon as I have a very nice set or originals that I re-did from a hide. The car has seen some use as a track day car but not recently.

Sadly, this is a metal dash car and is looking forward to a V8 swap. I do have some reservations about doing the buchering, but I do not want to start over with another five year resto job just so I can do a V8.

Pete, Don't you hesitate! Plenty of early BGT's around! You've served your time with this car. If it's a V8 you want and your willing to put the work in then go for it! Much better than keeping the car original and then loosing interest and letting it decay!

Pete,

Thanks for the source of those seats.

Iain,

I concede you make a good point. I still wince a little, but Pete obviously needs something stronger. If his new work is up to the quality of his existing car, then I'm happy.

Cheers,
