MG MGB Technical - Bucket Seats!

All,

The MGB floor area seems really narrow. Just looking to see what people have fitted so I know which seats I can use!

Cheers

MGF seats fitted to MGB base frames.

Very good lateral support.

Looking the other way.

The tag on the shoulder says MG.

Depends on how big YOU are...

I was told that several fit (the cheap Sparco and OMPs) but I didn't fit into them. Cobra Monaco S fits, and it's a bit wider on the inside. Let me know if you want a photo.

Do the MGF seats fit on to the standard MGB runners without any mods? If so that seems a good option given the choice available. I have at present a 74 GT V8 with the standard tan interior which I would prefer to change and also with seats that give better side support.

Ron,

No, you have some work to do.

The Back frame gives the support you want, but needs to be fitted to the lower part of the back frame from the B. Then you can fit the foams and covers from the F seats and keep the base frame, with the tip forward and angle adjust of the B seats, and the slides as well.

Here's a picture of the back frame after cutting and welding.
